Inspection, Testing & Maintenance
Monthly/Quarterly Inspections
- Visual inspection of exit signs and emergency lighting fixtures for damage, obstruction, and proper placement
- Activation of monthly functional test to verify illumination (including remote heads where applicable)
- Indicator light/status verification on battery-backed units
- Lens and housing condition check (cracks, discoloration, missing covers)
- Mounting and hardware verification
Annual Testing
- Full-duration functional test (as required) to verify sustained illumination
- Battery load performance verification (where applicable)
- Charging circuit/transfer operation verification for battery units
- Inspection of inverter/central systems (if present): transfer, annunciation, and output verification
- Light output/coverage check to confirm egress path visibility
